Interview:
Abdullah Farouk reveals his new hired gun.

Abdullah Farouk came out for an interview before our next match. Farouk said that because of Bobo Brazil's threats last month, he has used his impressive fortune (thanks to The Sheik's family, of course) to hire a new mercenary. That man is a menace from the Orient, Hiro Matsuda. Farouk said Matsuda is as tough as they come and if Brazil was smart, he'd quit while he can still walk.

Hiro Matsuda made Spiros Arion submit to the Japanese Sleeper in 0:04:16.
Rating: *** 3/4

Hiro Matsuda is Farouk's new hired gun, and we got a little display of his skills against Spiros Arion. The Golden Greek was game, but he had no answers for Matsuda's unique Japanese style. Matsuda puts Arion away with a deadly submission hold he calls the Japanese Sleeper.

Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Crusher & Bruiser (The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser) defeated The Pretty Boys (Pat Patterson and Larry Hennig) when Bruiser pinned Patterson after hitting him with a chain in 0:23:29.
Rating: ** 1/2

This match served to determine which team would get the next tag team title shot and also gave Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher some revenge against the Pretty Boys. It may not be the most noble way to win, but Bruiser & Crusher have never claimed to be noble guys as Bruiser nailed Patterson with a chain to get the 1-2-3 and earn a title shot at our huge year-end show on December 31st at Madison Square Garden, entitled "Cage Warfare." Yes, the World Tag Team Titles will be defend in a steel cage match!

Luke Graham pinned Haystacks Calhoun with the Thumb to the Throat in 0:15:31.
Rating: * 1/2
(Luke Graham retained the GCW United States Title.)

This is easily the closest Luke Graham has come to losing the United States Title and having his undefeated streak ended by Haystacks Calhoun. Calhoun used his considerable girth to toss Crazy Luke around early in the match. Graham's strategy was to ride the wave and let Calhoun tire himself out, and it worked to perfection. Luke Graham is still the US champion.

Danny Hodge made Ernie Ladd submit to an arm grapevine in 0:15:02.
Rating: *** 1/2
[Jack Davis interfered against Danny Hodge.]

This battle between Danny Hodge & Ernie Ladd was a no-time limit match, but it was not necessary as Hodge would pick up the win over his familiar foe. Hodge did great work on the Big Cat's arm and caught him in an arm grapevine for the submission duke.

Miguel Perez and Antonino Rocca defeated Baron Mikel Scicluna and The Sheik when Rocca defeated Scicluna by disqualification in 0:04:32.
Rating: * 1/2
[Hiro Matsuda interfered against Antonino Rocca.]

This match was nothing more than a chance for Abdullah Farouk to send a message to Antonino Rocca & Miguel Perez, but they got a message sent right back. As Rocca & Perez took on Baron Mikel Scicluna & The Sheik, it didn't take long for HIRO MATSUDA to attack for the blatant DQ. Farouk's plan was going exactly to plan until ARGENTINA APOLLO, returning from injury, ran down to even the odds! The faces cleared the ring and then we had a tense moment between Apollo & Perez who have had their fair share of problems. The tension was broken when Apollo offered his hand to Perez and the two shook. The three celebrated and it looks like we have a new faction born to combat Farouk and his men.

Handicap-Match:
Dory Funk Jr. defeated The Golden Grahams (Dr. Jerry Graham and Eddie Graham) when D. Funk Jr. defeated E. Graham when E. Graham passed out in the Spinning Toe Hold in 0:03:27.
Rating: ***

Dory Funk Jr. had the odds stacked against him having to wrestle both Eddie & Dr. Jerry Graham, so he tried to end this one in a hurry. This worked to perfection as in about 3 and a half minutes he got the Spinning Toe Hold on Eddie and picked up the win. A a result, it will now be Luke Graham vs. Dory Funk Jr. for the US Title in a steel cage at Cage Warfare!

Bill Watts and Johnny Valentine defeated Pedro Morales and Dominic DeNucci when J. Valentine pinned DeNucci after hitting him with the cane in 0:13:08.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Bill Watts and Johnny Valentine retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)
[Lou Albano interfered against Dominic DeNucci.]

We now know it will be Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher taking on Bill Watts & Johnny Valentine for the World Tag Team Titles at Cage Warfare as the latter retain the gold against Pedro Morales & Dominic DeNucci here tonight. This looked like the night that Morales & DeNucci were going to break through; that is, until Lou Albano smashed DeNucci in the ribs with his cane, allowing Valentine to roll him up and grab a handful of tights to retain the tag titles.

Gene Kiniski defeated Bobo Brazil by disqualification in 0:20:57.
Rating: * 1/2
(Gene Kiniski retained the GCW World Title.)

Bobo Brazil got his chance for redemption against Gene Kiniski, and unfortunately for him, his desire for vengeance overcame his desire to win the World Title. Brazil held it in as long as he could, but his frustration over James Dudley's departure and he got himself DQ'ed when he stopped listening to the referee's instructions. Officials had to pull these two apart. A rematch has already been signed, and it will be at Cage Warfare!

Card rating: ** 1/4
