After brawling to a double countout in the World Title tournament, Bobo Brazil & The Sheik wrestled one more time tonight. Brazil would pick up the win with the Coco Butt in a good fight. The Sheik wasn't finished though, attacking Brazil with a spike and cutting his head wide open.

Though the team of Morales & Apollo were exciting and worked well together, they didn't have the teamwork of the brothers, Eddie & Dr. Jerry Graham. Eddie's Atomic Kneedrop on Apollo put this one away.

[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - Finals]: Match for the vacant GCW World Tag Team Titles:
Antonino Rocca and Miguel Perez defeated Gorilla Monsoon and Killer Kowalski when Perez pinned Kowalski with the Sunset Flip in 0:18:51.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Antonino Rocca and Miguel Perez won the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

The match originally ended in a double countout, but the referee restarted the match so that we would for sure have our first World Tag Team champions crowned. After the restart, Monsoon & Kowalski dominated, but Rocca & Perez didn't give up. Perez surprised Kowalski with the Sunset Flip, but he couldn't get him over. Rocca jumped in the ring and dropkicked Kowalski in the mush, knocking him over and allowing Perez to get the pin and win the titles.

Buddy Rogers pinned Lou Thesz after a small package in 0:24:26.
Rating: *****
(Buddy Rogers retained the GCW World Title.)

This was an instant classic of a match. Lou Thesz & Buddy Rogers are both getting up there in years a bit, but this classic showed that they've just gotten better with age. Tons of drama, tons of action, Thesz within an eyelash of becoming the new World champion but Rogers pulled it out through the skin of his teeth thanks to a small package and a pull of the tights. Lou Thesz received a standing ovation for his performance in a losing effort.

Card rating: ** 3/4

Match observations:

We will be back at Madison Square Garden on March 2nd for our next show. Five huge matches have been signed already:

Bruno Sammartino will look to get revenge on Gene Kiniski in a singles match. Kiniski's unsportsmanlike post-match attack after losing to Sammartino in the semi-finals of the World Title tournament may very well have cost him his chance to be the champion, so Bruno looks to even the score.

Lou Thesz will meet Killer Kowalski, one-on-one! These two are no strangers to one another, Kowalski losing to Thesz in the title tournament after he was DQ'ed for using a chair and giving Thesz a concussion.

The brutal feud between Bobo Brazil & The Sheik continues, this time in a no-disqualification match!

Bill Watts looks to show that Ernie Ladd can't beat him if he doesn't choke him out, battling in singles action!

And Antonino Rocca & Miguel Perez will make their first World Tag Team Title defense against the Golden Grahams!
