Rating: ****

We had an 8-man battle royal to kick off our show with the winner earning the right to face the United States champion Luke Graham at our next show on February 26th (though they might not want that). One of Luke's brothers, Eddie Graham, was in the match to try to keep the shot in the family, but he didn't fair too well. It came down to Spiros Arion and former champion Ernie Ladd, who desperately wants to hold the gold once again. Because of Ladd's aggressiveness, he became easy prey to Arion who won the match and now gets either Graham or Edouard Carpentier next month.

Crusher & Bruiser (The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser) defeated Gorilla Monsoon and Killer Kowalski when Bruiser pinned Monsoon after a short lariat in 0:09:03.
Gorilla Monsoon injured his left knee. He will be out for approximately 1 month.
Rating: * 3/4

I can't believe what we have seen here. After a tough fought match, The Crusher & Dick the Bruiser defeated Gorilla Monsoon & Killer Kowalski when Bruiser caught Monsoon under the chin with a short lariat. Kowalski started yelling at Monsoon after the match, blaming the loss on him. Monsoon tried to shake it off and head to the back, but when he turned his back to Kowalski, the Killer hit a chopblock on Monsoon's left knee, causing him to crumple in pain! The crowd booed Kowalski as apparently this once great team is no more. Monsoon suffered a minor knee injury and will probably miss the next show, but he has already vowed revenge against Kowalski.

Argentina Apollo defeated Miguel Perez by disqualification in 0:05:24.
Rating: * 3/4
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Argentina Apollo.]

Argentina Apollo may have the W in the record books, but he didn't leave looking like a winner after his match with Miguel Perez. Perez is extremely jealous of Apollo for taking his spot in a tag team with Antonino Rocca while he was out with an injury, causing this complete change of attitude and association with Abdullah Farouk. Perez has an incredible violent edge to him now as was shown in this match. Perez technically got the win when he hit the Piledriver, but after the match he chose to hit Perez with several more Piledrivers. Referee Terry Taranova reversed the decision and awarded the match to Apollo, but the damage was done. Luckily for Apollo, ANTONINO ROCCA came down to make the save before any permanent damage could be done.

Dory Funk Jr. made Johnny Valentine submit to the Spinning Toe Hold in 0:01:30.
Rating: **

We didn't know a lot about Dory Funk Jr., but we sure learned a lot as he absolutely decimated Johnny Valentine! Valentine was as cocky as ever and claimed he would send Funk packing before he even got started, and instead what he got was a humbling loss in a minute and 30 seconds when he submitted to the Spinning Toe Hold. Bruno Sammartino has a good ally in Dory Funk Jr.

Gene Kiniski and The Sheik defeated Pedro Morales and Haystacks Calhoun when Sheik made Morales submit to the Camel Clutch in 0:09:46.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Gene Kiniski and The Sheik retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

Gene Kiniski & The Sheik have put together a lengthy title reigns as tag team champions, but they had an unorthodox tandem to contend with this show against Pedro Morales & Haystacks Calhoun. Unfortunately for the fan favorites, Kiniski & The Sheik prevented Calhoun from ever getting in the ring, systematically wearing Morales down until Sheik beat him with the Camel Clutch. The champs meet Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher on February 26 in Washington, DC.

Luke Graham pinned Edouard Carpentier with the Thumb to the Throat in 0:14:41.
Rating: *** 1/2
(Luke Graham retained the GCW United States Title.)

Edouard Carpentier had a much better game plan against Luke Graham and had him in the most trouble anyone has thus far. We thought we were going to see Graham's first loss when Carpentier hit the Somersault Senton, but Graham got his foot on the rope just in time. Carpentier made the mistake of arguing with referee Dick Kroll instead of following up, and when he turned back to Graham, he caught the Thumb to the Throat and a loss. Luke Graham now has to look forward to Spiros Arion in DC.

Cage Match:
Abdullah Farouk defeated James Dudley by escaping the cage in 0:05:35.
Rating: -** 3/4

Though the match itself left something to be desired, the passion of the fans was intense as they were dying for James Dudley to give Abdullah Farouk just what he deserved inside of a steel cage. Dudley was doing just that until Farouk pulled out a pair of handcuffs and clocked Dudley with them. If that wasn't enough, Farouk handcuffed Dudley to the top rope and walked out of the cage to get the win. Farouk wasn't done as BARON MIKEL SCICLUNA joined him in the ring and in a sickening displayed, the two put a vicious beating on the helpless James Dudley. BOBO BRAZIL ran down to try to get into the cage to save his manager, but it was a setup as he was attacked on the floor by Gene Kiniski & The Sheik and left laid out. This was a setup from the start and thankfully officials got down to the ring and into the cage to break this all up.

Bruno Sammartino and Bill Watts battled to a draw in 0:45:00.
Rating: *** 3/4
(Bruno Sammartino retained the GCW World Title.)

Nothing has been settled in the issue between Bruno Sammartino and Bill Watts. The two battled over the World Title again this show which ended in a time limit draw. You could tell neither man was happy with this result but they will have to wait before they can lock horns once again.

Card rating: * 3/4
