[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - FIRST ROUND]:
Pedro Morales and Dominic DeNucci defeated The Golden Grahams (Dr. Jerry Graham and Eddie Graham) when DeNucci pinned Dr. J. Graham with the Airplane Spin in 0:16:01.
Rating: *** 1/4

With Dick the Bruiser suffering a broken arm thanks to Pat Patterson, the World Tag Team Titles have been vacated. We had an 8-team tournament to crown the new champions tonight, starting with this first match between Pedro Morales & Dominic DeNucci and the Golden Grahams. Dr. Jerry & Eddie are said to be a little sick of their brother Luke bragging about being a champion and wanted to hold some gold of their own. Unfortunately for them, Morales & DeNucci had other plans as DeNucci hit the Airplane Spin on Dr. Jerry to move on to the semi-finals.

[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - FIRST ROUND]:
Gorilla Monsoon and Haystacks Calhoun defeated Johnny Valentine and Lou Albano when Calhoun pinned J. Valentine with the Big Splash in 0:09:26.
Rating: * 1/4

Lou Albano promised Johnny Valentine that he would have the best tag team partner in the world to replace Bill Watts. Valentine was a little less than thrilled when the partner was revealed as Lou Albano himself! Albano assured Valentine it was okay, but he was of little help against Gorilla Monsoon & Haystacks Calhoun. Valentine got trapped in the ring and when he was looking for help from Albano, his manager/partner was nowhere to be found. This left Valentine at the mercy of the half-ton team, Calhoun nailing the Big Splash to move on to the semi-finals.

[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - FIRST ROUND]:
The Pretty Boys (Pat Patterson and Larry Hennig) defeated Danny Hodge and The Crusher when L. Hennig defeated Crusher by disqualification in 0:04:43.
Rating: ** 1/4

The Crusher was allowed to choose a partner and enter this tournament, and he chose former US champion Danny Hodge. The Crusher would immediately get a chance for revenge as they took on the team that injured Dick the Bruiser in the first place, the Pretty Boys. The Crusher was just unable to keep his emotions under control as it wouldn't take long before he was disqualified. The Crusher let the situation get the better of him and now, he & Hodge are out of the tournament and the Pretty Boys move onto the semi-finals.

[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - FIRST ROUND]:
The Firecrackers (Antonino Rocca and Miguel Perez) defeated Baron Mikel Scicluna and The Sheik when Perez pinned Sheik with the Jumping Piledriver in 0:13:28.
Rating: ** 1/4
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Miguel Perez.]
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Antonino Rocca.]

The final first round match featured the very first tag team champions, Antonino Rocca & Miguel Perez, taking on Baron Mikel Scicluna & The Sheik. In the end the Firecrackers would not only get to move to the semi-finals, but enjoy the satisfaction of beating Abdullah Farouk & his men to do so.

Interview:
Luke Graham is looking for some competition.

Not scheduled for a match tonight, "Crazy" Luke Graham did an interview. The undefeated United States champion said that he is getting sick and tired of having what he claims to be "no competition." Graham issued an open challenge, saying he would wrestle anyone in the world at our next show on April 22nd in Baltimore. This blatant arrogance is going to end up biting him if he's not careful.

Dory Funk Jr. pinned Jack Brisco after a roll away in 0:13:41.
Rating: *** 3/4

Jack Brisco is extremely frustrated, not just because he lost to Dory Funk Jr. tonight, but the way he lost. Brisco wants to show Funk that he's the better pure wrestler, but Funk got the better of him when he rolled out of the way of a flying kneedrop and cradled Brisco for the pin. Brisco insisted that his shoulder was up but referee Dick Kroll disagreed. After the match, Brisco threw a fit at ringside and demanded a rematch next month.

[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - SEMI-FINALS]:
Pedro Morales and Dominic DeNucci defeated Gorilla Monsoon and Haystacks Calhoun when Morales defeated Monsoon by countout in 0:07:15.
Rating: **

The crowd was split on who to cheer for in this semi-final match as Pedro Morales & Dominic DeNucci took on the half-ton team of Gorilla Monsoon & Haystacks Calhoun. Morales & DeNucci had to deal with an onslaught as the huge Monsoon & Calhoun wanted to end this one early. Stamina worked in Morales & DeNucci's favor as they would win this one by countout. After the match, all four men shook hands and Monsoon & Calhoun wished Morales & DeNucci luck in the finals.

[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - SEMI-FINALS]:
The Pretty Boys (Pat Patterson and Larry Hennig) defeated The Firecrackers (Antonino Rocca and Miguel Perez) when L. Hennig pinned Perez with the Axe in 0:18:20.
Rating: *** 1/4

Pedro Morales & Dominic DeNucci were watching closely to see who they'd be wrestling for the vacant World Tag Team Titles - either the Pretty Boys or the former champs, Antonino Rocca & Miguel Perez. The crowd certainly wanted it to be Rocca & Perez. Despite their antics and some of their actions, Pat Patterson & Larry Hennig are a great team, and they showed it here by surprisingly defeating Rocca & Perez cleanly.

Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Bobo Brazil and Killer Kowalski battled to a double disqualification in 0:18:36.
Rating: ** 1/2
[Gene Kiniski interfered against Bobo Brazil.]
[Gene Kiniski interfered against Killer Kowalski.]

This match between Bobo Brazil & Killer Kowalski was supposed to determine a top contender for Gene Kiniski's World Title, but Kiniski and Abdullah Farouk had a plan. As Brazil & Kowalski were beating the tar out of each other, Kiniski ran in and attacked both men with a chair. Referee Terry Taranova had no choice but to rule this a double disqualification. Kiniski & Farouk thought they pulled a fast one and he assumed he wouldn't have to wrestle a match at all next month, but instead, he is going to have to defend the World Title TWICE! He will first defend against Killer Kowalski, and if he gets through that match, he will defend against Bobo Brazil in a second title match in Baltimore. To make it fair, Brazil will also have to wrestle a second match besides his title opportunity, a one-on-one contest against Ernie Ladd.

[WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - FINALS]: Match for the vacant GCW World Tag Team Titles:
Pedro Morales and Dominic DeNucci defeated The Pretty Boys (Pat Patterson and Larry Hennig) when DeNucci pinned L. Hennig with the Airplane Spin in 0:09:59.
Rating: **
(Pedro Morales and Dominic DeNucci won the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

After working for it for over 2 years, Pedro Morales & Dominic DeNucci are the World Tag Team champions for the first time! Pat Patterson once again tried to put a foreign object in that phony mask he is wearing as Larry Hennig held DeNucci wide open, but DeNucci moved and Patterson accidentally headbutted Hennig instead! Morales knocked Patterson out of the ring allowing DeNucci to hit Hennig with the Airplane Spin for the win and the tag team titles!

Card rating: ** 1/2
