March 26, 1966 - Madison Square Garden - New York, NY

Chief Jay Strongbow defeated Dr. Jerry Graham when Dr. Jerry Graham passed out in the Indian Deathlock in 0:16:36.
Rating: ** 1/4

Dr. Jerry Graham told his brother Eddie Graham that he would have far better success against Chief Jay Strongbow than he would. Boy could he have been further from the truth. The Good Doctor suffered the same fate as Eddie did, getting handed a loss by Strongbow. For being able to get past Eddie & Dr. Jerry, Strongbow will get a shot at Luke Graham and the United States Title on April 23rd in Chicago, provided Luke retains against Haystacks Calhoun later tonight.

Ernie Ladd pinned Argentina Apollo after a sitdown in 0:14:56.
Rating: ** 3/4
[Jack Davis interfered against Argentina Apollo.]

Ernie Ladd really has gotten it back together, as he not only picked up another win this month over Argentina Apollo, but he did so with a wrestling counter - something he usually won't even attempt, let alone win with. Apollo's speed advantage was evident and he reversed a backdrop attempt with a sunset flip, but the Big Cat sat down and hooked his legs to get the pinfall. Jack Davis is said to be hard at work to get Ladd another crack at the United States Title.

Luke Graham pinned Haystacks Calhoun with the Thumb to the Throat in 0:08:40.
Rating: **
(Luke Graham retained the GCW United States Title.)

And Luke Graham will be defending against Chief Jay Strongbow in Chicago. Crazy Luke continued his streak of dominance as he stayed one step ahead of the big Calhoun, taking off the turnbuckle pad and causing the 600-pounder to crash into it, setting up the Thumb to the Throat for the win.

Pedro Morales pinned Eddie Graham after a backslide in 0:13:50.
Rating: ** 3/4

Pedro Morales has said that he is going to wrestle in some singles matches until his normal partner, Dominic DeNucci, returns from injury. He took on another primarily tag team wrestler tonight, Eddie Graham. Eddie was in rare arrogant form tonight, seeming to think he'd have no problems getting past the fiery Puerto Rican. So imagine his shock when he got caught in a backslide and was pinned 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring. The Grahams don't take kindly to losing as Dr. Jerry Graham joined his brother in a double team assault. With no word on when DeNucci will be back from injury, this could be bad news for Pedro Morales.

Baron Mikel Scicluna, Gene Kiniski, Miguel Perez and The Sheik defeated Crusher & Bruiser (The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser), Antonino Rocca and Bobo Brazil when Scicluna pinned Brazil with the Fistdrop in 0:18:20.
Rating: **
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Bobo Brazil.]

This 8-man tag team match had a lot of feuds to possibly be settled as Abdullah Farouk's entire stable took on Bobo Brazil, Antonino Rocca, and the tag team champions Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher. The match had many ups and downs for both teams, but in the end, Bobo Brazil once again got screwed over by Farouk and his men. While the other 6 men were brawling on the outside and referee Terry Taranova was trying to break it up, Farouk entered the ring and sprayed what appeared to be hairspray in Brazil's eyes. Scicluna hit the Fistdrop and this one was in the books. Brazil's patience is running thin as Farouk has been a thorn in his side for over 3 years now. One has to think this one is coming to a head one way or another.

The Blond Bombers (Pat Patterson and Ray Stevens) defeated Danny Hodge and Spiros Arion when Patterson pinned Arion with the Atomic Drop in 0:11:04.
Rating: *** 1/2

The Blond Bombers may not be well liked, but they just keep winning matches. This time they got the better of the makeshift team of Spiros Arion & Danny Hodge. The Blond Bombers have to be considered for a tag title shot soon.

Killer Kowalski defeated Gorilla Monsoon via referee stoppage in 0:08:56.
Rating: ** 1/4

The next match was a contest I never thought I'd see. Gorilla Monsoon & Killer Kowalski, the 1964 Tag Team of the Year, going at it one-on-one. Kowalski had injured Monsoon's knee a couple months ago, and as evidenced by this match, Monsoon may have come back too soon. Monsoon got his shots in, but the Killer worked over Monsoon's knee, ending in a flying kneedrop from the top right onto the injured knee. Referee Dick Bartfield declared that Monsoon was unable to continue and stopped this match, awarding it to Kowalski. Monsoon had to be helped to the back.

Texas Bullrope Match:
Dory Funk Jr. defeated Bill Watts in 0:42:20.
Rating: **** 1/4

What a bloody battle! Something had to give as Dory Funk Jr. & "Cowboy" Bill Watts met in a match that they both specialize at, the Texas Bullrope match. These guys went at it like two angry lions fighting for territory. The match raged on for over 40 minutes but neither man could seem to hit the 4 turnbuckles in succession. Finally, after having locked Watts in the Spinning Toe Hold for over 3 minutes, Funk wrapped the bullrope around the Cowboy's neck and dragged him to the 4 turnbuckles, mercifully ending this brutal affair.

Bruno Sammartino made Johnny Valentine submit to the Sammartino Backbreaker in 0:18:42.
Rating: *** 1/2
(Bruno Sammartino retained the GCW World Title.)

After suffering the pinfall loss to Johnny Valentine in a tag team match last month, Bruno Sammartino had to defend the World Title against the man. Valentine wrestled well, but without the benefit of Bill Watts hitting Bruno with a cowbell, he was wrestling an uphill battle. Bruno is still the World champion. Next up he will try to finish his issue with Bill Watts once and for all as he defends the gold in a cage match!
