Edouard Carpentier pinned Ernie Ladd with the Somersault Senton in 0:11:25.
Rating: ****
(Edouard Carpentier retained the GCW United States Title.)
[Jack Davis interfered against Edouard Carpentier.]
Edouard Carpentier proved that his winning of the United States Title wasn't a fluke as he defeated Ernie Ladd in his rematch, despite Jack Davis' meddling. Who will step up to challenge Carpentier for the title now?
Baron Mikel Scicluna pinned Don Leo Jonathan with the Fistdrop in 0:06:42.
Rating: * 1/2
The referees haven't caught onto Baron Mikel Scicluna's cheating ways, which I guess is a weird testament to how good he is at it. Combine him with the guidance of Abdullah Farouk, and this man is very dangerous. Don Leo Jonathan found this out the hard way when Scicluna pinned him with his Fistdrop (it didn't hurt that he had a roll of coins in his hand when he did it). Rumor has it that Farouk might be targeting the US Title.
Pedro Morales defeated Killer Kowalski by disqualification in 0:12:16.
Rating: ** 1/2
[Gorilla Monsoon interfered against Pedro Morales.]
Pedro Morales was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Morales wanted to pick up a win over Killer Kowalski, but when you see Kowalski, Gorilla Monsoon isn't far behind. Monsoon & Kowalski were wanting to make an example out of Morales, and they did that when Monsoon jumped in the ring and the two assaulted him. Unfortunately for Morales, there was no one available to come help him so he suffered quite a beating. Luckily, a slew of officials broke it up before permanent damage could be done. Morales isn't one to run and hide and has already challenged Monsoon to a match on June 19th at MSG.
Crusher & Bruiser (The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser) defeated The Golden Grahams (Dr. Jerry Graham and Eddie Graham) when Bruiser defeated Dr. J. Graham when Dr. J. Graham passed out in the Stomach Claw in 0:13:49.
Rating: ** 1/2
Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher picked up a win in this grudge match over Dr. Jerry Graham & Eddie Graham.
Ray Stevens defeated Haystacks Calhoun by countout in 0:06:50.
Rating: * 1/2
It was pretty apparent to Ray Stevens early on that at his small stature, there wasn't a whole lot he was going to be able to do to Haystacks Calhoun - he was outweighed by nearly 400 pounds! But what Stevens can do is outrun Calhoun, and definitely annoy him. That's exactly what he did. The Blond Bomber pestered Calhoun to the point that he led him out to the floor to chase after him. Stevens ran him around the ring and got back in before Calhoun could, leading to the countout. It might not be the most noble of victories, but Stevens is walking away with the winner's purse this month.
Antonino Rocca and Argentina Apollo and Bill Watts and Johnny Valentine battled to a double countout in 0:08:43.
Rating: ** 1/4
(Bill Watts and Johnny Valentine retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)
Antonino Rocca & Argentina Apollo wanted the World Tag Team Titles back, especially the way that they lost them last month to Bill Watts & Johnny Valentine. Unfortunately for the challengers, they were unable to keep the fight in the ring and the match ended in a double countout. Also, Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher are next in line for a title shot, so Rocca & Apollo are going to have to wait their turn.
Spiros Arion and Bruno Sammartino defeated Gene Kiniski and The Sheik when B. Sammartino made Kiniski submit to the Sammartino Backbreaker in 0:24:00.
Rating: ***
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Bruno Sammartino.]
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Spiros Arion.]
The crowd was excited to get to see Bruno Sammartino & Spiros Arion put their hated rivals Gene Kiniski & The Sheik down. Abdullah Farouk is so hated by the fans that they want nothing more than to see him and his charges get put in their place. After this intense back and forth battle, the fans got exactly what they wanted when Sammartino got his deadly Backbreaker on Kiniski. Kiniski was too injured to hold off for too long and was forced to submit. After the match, Farouk was already claiming that referee Greg Massie called it too early as there was no way that Kiniski would ever submit, especially to Bruno Sammartino. Farouk has even filed a formal complaint to have Massie fired. This guy is ridiculous.
Luke Graham pinned Danny Hodge with the Thumb to the Throat in 0:11:15.
Rating: *** 1/4
Danny Hodge tried to outwrestle Luke Graham in this match, but Luke "Don't call me Crazy" Graham was too eccentric for Hodge in this one. Hodge had troubles getting his holds on Graham, and when he was caught with the Thumb to the Throat, that was all she wrote.
Lou Thesz and Bobo Brazil battled to a no-contest in 0:29:50.
Rating: *****
(Lou Thesz retained the GCW World Title.)
[Gene Kiniski and The Sheik interfered against Bobo Brazil and Lou Thesz.]
What an outrage! Lou Thesz & Bobo Brazil were having a fantastic clean match for the World Title. Brazil asked for this title match when Thesz offered to repay him anything for helping him last month. Brazil was looking to take advantage of this opportunity and took Thesz to the limit, while the champion dished it right back. However, we were robbed of a clean finish to see who the better man was as GENE KINISKI & THE SHEIK ran in to break it up and attacked both men, causing Grizzly Jones to throw this match out. Farouk's men had the edge until Thesz & Brazil turned the tide and sent them out of the ring. The show ended with a handshake between Thesz & Brazil.
Card rating: ***
