November 17, 1969 - Cow Palace Battle Royal - San Francisco, CA

Chief Jay Strongbow and Wahoo McDaniel defeated Killer Kowalski and King Curtis Iaukea when Strongbow made Kowalski submit to a figure-four leglock in 0:23:42.
Rating: ** 1/4
(Chief Jay Strongbow and Wahoo McDaniel retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

The 3rd annual Cow Palace Battle Royal event kicked off with the GCW World Tag Team Titles on the line as Wahoo McDaniel & Chief Jay Strongbow defended against the vicious team of Killer Kowalski & King Curtis Iaukea. Kowalski & Iaukea used their bruteness to wear down Wahoo & the Chief, but the Native Americans weren't going to be walking out of San Francisco without the tag titles. A good title defense for the champions, and a good showing by the challengers.

Bill Watts defeated The Crusher by disqualification in 0:01:56.
Rating: *
[Lou Albano interfered against Bill Watts.]

Lou Albano has made it clear he wants to see Bill Watts, his former client, taken out, and that was The Crusher's job here by the Bay. The match was nothing more than a ruse for Watts to get caught in a 2-on-1 beatdown as DICK THE BRUISER came in to attack Watts, ending this in a disqualification. Winning the match wasn't on Watts' mind though as he was getting a beating from the former 4-time World Tag Team champions! That is, until JOHNNY VALENTINE ran in to make the save, clocking The Crusher with the US Title to knock him out of the ring! Bruiser went after Valentine but Valentine ducked, allowing he and Watts to double clothesline Bruiser out of the ring.

Bruno Sammartino defeated Luke Graham by countout in 0:25:11.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Luke Graham retained the GCW World Title.)
[Lou Albano interfered against Bruno Sammartino.]

World champion Luke Graham got a victory over Bruno Sammartino in the Grand Prix tournament back in July, but this was a little different story as tonight, the World Title was on the line as the former GCW star looked to become the first 3-time GCW World champion. Graham is also still nursing a neck injury, so the stars seemed to be aligning for Bruno to walk out of the Cow Palace as the champion. However, Lou Albano isn't above one of his men taking the easy way out, and that was the case here as Graham grabbed his title and ran, losing by countout but retaining the championship.
