October 10, 1964 - Convention Hall - Atlantic City, NJ

Don Leo Jonathan and Edouard Carpentier defeated The Golden Grahams (Eddie Graham and Dr. Jerry Graham) when Carpentier defeated E. Graham by disqualification in 0:14:12.
Rating: ** 1/4

The Golden Grahams were caught cheating in our opening match against Don Leo Jonathan & Edouard Carpentier and thus lost the contest. Dr. Jerry was trying to pass his brother Eddie a pair of brass knuckles, but referee Petey Santangelo caught them and threw the match out.

Haystacks Calhoun defeated The Sheik by disqualification in 0:12:10.
Rating: -* 1/4
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Haystacks Calhoun.]

Just when you think Abdullah Farouk & his men couldn't stoop any lower, we get what The Sheik did to Haystacks Calhoun. With Haystacks size, he was essentially squishing The Sheik like a bug. The Sheik gave up on trying to win the match and threw a fireball in Calhoun's eyes! Calhoun wailed in pain and clutched his eyes as trainers came out with towels and water to flush his eyes. This was an absolutely disturbing attack and here's hoping someone takes care of Abdullah Farouk and soon.

Gene Kiniski pinned Abdullah the Butcher with the Backbreaker in 0:12:09.
Rating: * 1/4

The night for Abdullah Farouk continued to go well as Gene Kiniski got the win over Farouk's former charge, Abdullah the Butcher. Abdullah the Butcher wanted revenge, but just seemed lost without Farouk calling the shots for him, allowing Kiniski to hit the Backbreaker and notch up a W.

Ernie Ladd pinned Danny Hodge with the Boot to the Face in 0:16:57.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Ernie Ladd retained the GCW United States Title.)

Before this match, we learned that Jack Davis, who was a brand-new GCW referee, has already been fired from that position as a result of his actions against Danny Hodge, costing him the United States Title. It didn't take Davis long to find work though as he came out as US champ Ernie Ladd's new manager. Davis would prove instrumental in helping his first charge retain the United states Title, tripping Hodge up causing him to fall face first into the Big Boot and put down for the 1-2-3. This battle has a long way to go before all is said and done.

Antonino Rocca, Miguel Perez and Pedro Morales defeated Freddie Blassie, Mark Lewin and Ray Stevens when Perez pinned Blassie with the
Sunset Flip in 0:26:07.
Rating: *** 1/4

We had 6-man tag action with Antonino Rocca & Miguel Perez teaming up with Pedro Morales to take on the team of Mark Lewin, Ray Stevens, & Freddie Blassie. Rocca & Perez are once again firing on all cylinders as it was announced they would wrestle for the World Tag Team Titles next month at MSG. With the help of the fiery Latino temper of Morales, Blassie would be pinned by the Sunset Flip of Perez.

Bruno Sammartino pinned Johnny Valentine after a piledriver in 0:05:56.
Rating: ** 3/4

Bruno Sammartino came into this match with an aura of excitement as he learned before the show that on November 11th at MSG, he will finally get the shot at his former partner, "Cowboy" Bill Watts, that's he's been looking for as the two will meet in a cage match! Sammartino had a little extra something as he took on Watts' tag team partner, Johnny Valentine. Sammartino was firing up on Valentine where Valentine couldn't get out of the blocks. A devastating piledriver was what would do Valentine in as Sammartino prepares for the match of his life.

Abdullah Farouk pays Boris Malenko his bounty.

Before our next match was to start, Abdullah Farouk introduced Boris Malenko, who debuted last month by attacking Bobo Brazil with a chain. Farouk got business out of the way first and gave Malenko a bag that had $10,000 in it, the bounty for taking out Brazil, claiming, "There is no way Bobo Brazil is going to make it to this match!" Farouk said thanks to Malenko, we would never see Brazil again. On cue, Brazil came out with manager James Dudley and said he was there to fight! We were going to have a chain match much to Farouk's chagrin.

Chain No-DQ-Match:
Bobo Brazil made Boris Malenko submit to a side headlock in 0:14:54.
Rating: *

Abdullah Farouk was positive that Bobo Brazil wasn't going to show up for the chain match against his new protege, the Russian, Boris Malenko. Brazil did come out though and was filled with rage. This was a bloody affair and even though Brazil's spirit was there, he was still worse for wear due to the assault Malenko put on him last month. Brazil has so much heart though and despite his wounds, Brazil used the chain to his advantage by wrapping it around Malenko's head and put on a side headlock. The pain of the chain around his skull was too great as Malenko had to submit, giving this battle to Brazil.

Gorilla Monsoon and Killer Kowalski defeated Crusher & Bruiser (The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser) when Monsoon pinned Crusher after a Gorilla Press in 0:16:12.
Rating: **
(Gorilla Monsoon and Killer Kowalski retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher had their opportunity to regain the tag titles as they exercised their rematch clause against Gorilla Monsoon & Killer Kowalski. Say what you want about Monsoon & Kowalski as people, but these monsters are a great team and know what they're doing in the squared circle. Bruiser & Crusher gave it their all, but came up just short. Monsoon & Kowalski have to look forward to facing their most hated rivals in Rocca & Perez next month.

Lou Thesz defeated Bill Watts when Bill Watts passed out in the STF in 0:17:02.
Rating: ****
(Lou Thesz retained the GCW World Title.)

In our main event of the evening, Lou Thesz once again successfully retained his World Title against "Cowboy" Bill Watts. Watts must have had the cage match with Bruno Sammartino on his mind as he seemed to be looking over his shoulder throughout this contest for Bruno to come after him. He wasn't focused, and you just can't do that when you're wrestling the World champion. Thesz locked on the STF and that was all she wrote.

Card rating: ** 1/2
