Haystacks Calhoun pinned Dr. Jerry Graham with the Big Splash in 0:11:49.
Rating: **

Haystacks Calhoun has been in Europe for the past few months, but he came back with a bang by getting a victory over Dr. Jerry Graham in our opening contest. The fans were sure happy to see him back and let him know with a rousing reaction for his efforts.

Luke Graham pinned Gorilla Monsoon with the Thumb to the Throat in 0:09:36.
Rating: **
(Luke Graham retained the GCW United States Title.)
[Killer Kowalski interfered against Gorilla Monsoon.]

Gorilla Monsoon had his first opportunity to win singles gold when he challenged the undefeated beast Luke Graham for the United States Title. Monsoon used his size to neutralize Graham's savage brutality, and looked like he had a chance to be the first man to slow down the Crazy One. When the fans started chanting "Crazy!" at Luke Graham, he covered his ears and was begging referee Terry Taranova to get the fans to stop. While Taranova was occupied, KILLER KOWALSKI ran down and attacked Monsoon, clipping his previously injured knee and then hitting the Flying Kneedrop! Graham followed with the Thumb to the Throat to retain the title. Kowalski thought he pulled one over on Monsoon, but Monsoon got the last laugh as the GCW Championship Committee stripped Kowalski of his World Title shot later tonight due to his actions! Kowalski is said to be livid and is blaming Monsoon for him losing his World Title opportunity. Meanwhile, now who will Bruno Sammartino defend the World Title against?

Dory Funk Jr. defeated Eddie Graham when Eddie Graham passed out in the Spinning Toe Hold in 0:00:39.
Rating: *

Dory Funk Jr. was not working by the hour as he absolutely blitzed Eddie Graham in this match. Funk jumped him before the bell and hit a big piledriver. When the bell actually rang, Funk was already locking on the Spinning Toe Hold to get the win. Funk wants another shot at Luke Graham and the US Title, but thus far, the champion has ignored his challenges. Funk will have another chance to send a message to Luke when he takes on Dr. Jerry Graham next month.

[FAROUK CHALLENGE]:
Bobo Brazil pinned The Sheik with the Coco Butt in 0:09:35.
Rating: 1/2*

Against all odds, Bobo Brazil has done it! Brazil worked his way through all of Abdullah Farouk's men, the final one being The Sheik. You could see the desperation in Farouk's face as he knew if Brazil won this match, he'd have to wrestle Brazil himself next month. Because of this, Farouk barked directions at The Sheik left and right, and it may have been more of a hindrance than a help. When he saw Brazil nail his charge with the Coco Butt, Farouk knew he was in trouble as Brazil got the 1-2-3. Brazil motioned to Farouk that he was next, but this left Brazil wide open to The Sheik throwing a fireball in his face! Brazil screamed in agony as he clutched his eyes. Paramedics rushed to the rings and flushed his eyes out, but Brazil was in a bad way as he was rushed to the hospital. He still has some time to heal, but I don't see how Brazil will be able to compete next month in Boston.

Crusher & Bruiser (The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser) defeated The Pretty Boys (Pat Patterson and Larry Hennig) when Crusher pinned L. Hennig with the Bolo Punch in 0:14:43.
Rating: **
(Crusher & Bruiser retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

Pat Patterson has vowed that he will get even with Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher for shattering his former partner Ray Stevens' face. Patterson got to select a new partner to challenge for the World Tag Team Titles this month, and that man was the debuting Larry Hennig in a team that Patterson has named "The Pretty Boys." The irony of that being that Hennig is anything but pretty. He may not be pretty, but Hennig is a powerhouse and the champs found that out in a hurry. Hennig put a hurting on the champs, but the inexperience of the Pretty Boys proved to be too much to overcome as Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher retain the gold.

Ernie Ladd pinned Spiros Arion with the Boot to the Face in 0:12:58.
Rating: ***

Ernie Ladd couldn't wrestle the World Title away from Bruno Sammartino, but he did take out some of his frustrations against Sammartino's former tag team partner Spiros Arion, pinning him after the Boot to the Face.

Chief Jay Strongbow defeated Baron Mikel Scicluna when Baron Mikel Scicluna passed out in the Indian Deathlock in 0:08:13.
Rating: ***

Chief Jay Strongbow continued his winning ways with a solid victory over Baron Mikel Scicluna. Things went from bad to worse for Abdullah Farouk as MIGUEL PEREZ ran out and attacked Scicluna, nailing him with the Jumping Piledriver! Farouk ran away but before he go to the back, Perez had the microphone.

Interview:
Miguel Perez has a challenge for Abdullah Farouk.

Perez said he made the biggest mistake of his life when he joined up with Abdullah Farouk and his "group of scumbags." Perez said he wanted to win the fans back over and he was going to do so by helping take down Farouk and his army. Perez challenged any two of Farouk's men to a tag team match next month in Boston. Farouk laughed at Perez, saying that Perez doesn't have a friend in the world. Perez said that he did, and revealed that his partner would be ANTONINO ROCCA! Perez & Rocca have buried the hatchet and will reunite next month!

Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Bill Watts and Johnny Valentine defeated Pedro Morales and Dominic DeNucci when J. Valentine pinned Morales with the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:24:08.
Rating: ** 3/4

Lou Albano as the manager of Bill Watts & Johnny Valentine has already paid off in a big way. Albano got his men signed in a #1 contenders match with Pedro Morales & Dominic DeNucci. Not only that, but he would directly help them win the match as he walloped DeNucci in the knee with his cane. DeNucci never recovered and fell prey to Valentine's Figure-Four Leglock. Watts & Valentine now have the chance to become 3-time World Tag Team champions.

Gene Kiniski pinned Bruno Sammartino with the Backbreaker in 0:22:58.
Rating: ****
(Gene Kiniski won the GCW World Title.)
[Abdullah Farouk interfered against Bruno Sammartino.]

When this show started, no one would have expected that it would end the way it did. Ladies and gentleman, we have a new World champion, and that man is GENE KINISKI. After Killer Kowalski lost his title match against Bruno Sammartino earlier in the night, Abdullah Farouk did some wheeling and dealing and got Kiniski the title opportunity, and they didn't let it go to waste. Sammartino is a fighting champion and said he'd take on anyone, but he was in over his head on this one. After a great match, Sammartino had Kiniski in the Sammartino Backbreaker. Kiniski did indeed submit, but referee Dick Kroll didn't see it as he was trying to get Farouk off the ring apron. This left the ref's back blind to see THE SHEIK enter the ring and throw ANOTHER FIREBALL right in the eyes of the World champion! Bruno clutched his eyes screaming just as Bobo Brazil had done earlier in the night. Kiniski scooped Bruno up and hit the Backbreaker and with Kroll now undistracted, he counted the 1-2-3. Gene Kiniski & Abdullah Farouk have STOLEN the World Title. The fireball hit Bruno even more directly than the one that hit Brazil. Bruno suffered severe damage to his eyes and we may never see him in a GCW ring. What a sickening way to end the night.

Card rating: ** 3/4
